MILAN, Italy — The energy that was missing in the Pucci show the other day was blasting in the MSGM show today. The designer behind both endeavours is Massimo Giorgetti, who at MSGM, his own line, can obviously do whatever he pleases.
This was Giorgetti's best collection so far: fast-paced, colourful, and endlessly revolving around a single idea —ruffles, and tonnes of them. It felt like a good remix of a good tune. Giorgetti has graduated from the sweatshirts and full skirts of his beginnings, without forsaking the youthful and optimistic spirit. His designs are more thought-out and mildly experimental, while the clash of athleticism and romanticism clearly suits him. Well done.
