Yilan Hua

Model

Fronting a new generation of Chinese supermodels, Hua has become one of the most in-demand faces on global runways and a favourite for major campaigns.

Yilan Hua

A young but already ubiquitous fashion week face, Yilan Hua was crowned the top runway model for 2023 by the New York Times after gracing over 89 catwalks in a single year. Having walked for the likes of Hermès, Chanel, Christian Dior, Maison Margiela couture and many more, Hua has kept busy between fashion weeks by fronting campaigns for Hermès, Chanel, Dior, Moncler and Fendi. A rising Chinese model with a truly global portfolio, she has also starred on covers for T Magazine China, Wonderland China, and Harper’s Bazaar Germany.

Hangzhou-born Hua’s interested in modelling was piqued after watching a Victoria’s Secret fashion show in 2015; she began applying to agencies after moving to Shanghai to study in 2018 and walked her first runway for Schiaparelli couture the following year. Hua’s rise saw her nominated for Models.com’s 2021 Breakout Star Award. Stints in Paris led to her landing a global exclusive deal with Bottega Veneta and moving to the fashion capital full-time.
