Thom Bettridge

Editor-in-Chief & Chief Brand Officer, i-D Magazine

The newly appointed editor-in-chief of i-D has rich experience across fashion media, including Highsnobiety, Interview Magazine and Ssense.

Thom Bettridge

Thom Bettridge is the editor-in-chief and chief brand officer of i-D Magazine, appointed in September 2024 to lead the iconic publication into a new era under Bedford Media. Widely considered one of the most influential digitally native fashion critics of his generation, Bettridge has shaped the editorial identity of some of fashion’s most progressive platforms, blending internet culture, commerce and high-concept storytelling. At i-D, Bettridge oversees print, digital, and branded initiatives — bringing his signature blend of irony, intellectualism and internet fluency to one of fashion’s most storied titles.

Before joining i-D, Bettridge held senior roles across a spectrum of cutting-edge media brands including Highsnobiety and Interview Magazine. He was editor-in-chief at Highsnobiety (2019–2022), where he transformed the publication into an e-commerce-enabled media brand, launching the brand on both print and TikTok, and spearheading a strategy that married luxury fashion with meme culture. He also served as executive editor at Interview Magazine and as vice president of creative and content at Ssense, where he led viral campaigns like the 2024 kidswear video spelling out brand names, garnering 7 million views and over $350K in media impact value.

His creative direction on projects such as Ssense x Marni lookbooks, and his irreverent, analytical writing on platforms like The Business of Fashion have established him as a sharp cultural commentator.
