Tems
Musician
The double-Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artist has emerged as both a musical and fashion force, gracing covers from Dazed to GQ while championing African talent on the global stage.

Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer whose fusion of Afrobeats and alternative R&B has earned her global acclaim. As the first Nigerian artist with two Grammy Awards following her 2025 win for Best African Music Performance, she is reshaping the international music and fashion landscape.
Tems’ style and presence have increasingly caught the attention of the fashion world. Though she starred in a Tommy Jeans campaign in Lagos in 2022, her fashion recognition truly accelerated the following year when she was given Elle magazine’s Trailblazer Award and appeared on the cover of Elle UK. Since then, she has graced the covers of Dazed, GQ, Interview, Billboard, Glamour and more, becoming a visual muse and voice for a new wave of African talent. In 2025, she turned heads at the Met Gala wearing a custom Ozwald Boateng look, highlighting African design on one of fashion’s biggest stages, and appeared front row at shows such as Christian Dior Fall-Winter 2025.
With over 3.6 billion Spotify streams, 6 million Instagram followers, and collaborations with artists like Drake, Future, Justin Bieber and J. Cole, Tems is not only a music force but also a cultural one. Her popularity underscores her growing global impact, and spotlights the need for more luxury brands to engage with the women leading Afrobeats.
