The instantly recognisable gap-toothed, shaven-haired model has taken the fashion industry by storm, having appeared in Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs campaigns, and walked for Fendi and Fenty shows.
Woods, real name Simone Thompson, was discovered in Los Angeles by model Ash Stymest, who quickly befriended her and introduced her to photographer Dave Mushegain. It was his photographs that landed Woods a spot in Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 2 lookbook. She went on to appear in Calvin Klein’s Autumn/Winter 2016 campaign, and a contract with boutique New York agency The Lions soon followed.
She has since walked for brands from Marc Jacobs and Fendi, to Yeezy and Puma, and been photographed by some of the industry’s most renowned photographers, including Steven Meisel , Tim Walker and Alasdair McLellan . Woods also appeared on the cover of i-D magazine’s Creativity Issue alongside Adwoa Aboah , and numerous editorials for various international editions of Vogue. She was featured in the 2018 Pirelli calendar alongside celebrities such as Naomi Campbell , Lupita Nyong'o, and Diddy.
The rebel-minded model has a strong social media following over 900K, showcasing a nonchalant attitude that appeals to her Gen-Z audience.
