Shiva Vaqar is a business management graduate from Tehran Azad University and head director of self-established Iranian brand Vaqar. Her deep interest in fashion persuaded her to integrate her business abilities with her sister’s capability in fine arts. In 2013, Shiva and her sister Shirin established their own brand name, Vaqar, which is derived from their family name. The pair joined forces and began working together to create designs that challenge outsider perspectives on Iranian fashion. The brand quickly rose to the spotlight after being successfully shortlisted for the LVMH prize in 2016. Today, Vaqar and her sister are making their brand an international success by staying true to traditional craftsmanship and practicality.
