Sawai Padmanabh Singh "Pacho"

Chairman, City Palace, Jaipur

The Indian sportsman and menswear muse draws on his royal lineage to empower disadvantaged women through traditional textile skills as part of his broader work preserving Jaipur's heritage.

Sawai Padmanabh Singh "Pacho"

Sawai Padmanabh Singh is the titular maharaja of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. He is also a professional polo player, menswear muse for global brands and a philanthropist who champions local textile techniques. "Pacho", as he is known to friends and fans, is the chairman of the City Palace Jaipur and vice president of the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF), a social outreach initiative established by his mother. Through PDKF, Singh and his sister Gauravi Kumari work to empower disadvantaged women by training them in hand embroidery, beadwork and threadwork — an initiative that helps preserve, revive and modernise Rajasthan's textile heritage and has recast Jaipur as a global centre for craft and culture. He also leads City Palace Museum, Jaipur, Jaigarh, and broader initiatives around Jaipur's heritage.

Singh’s status as a fashion muse began in 2018 with his modelling debut at Dolce & Gabbana during Milan Fashion Week. The aristocratic tastemaker has appeared on magazine covers including Vogue Arabia and Esquire India, sat front row at shows by Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior, and appeared in local campaigns for brands such as Piaget. His personal style has earned him GQ India’s Most Stylish Man accolade and a global ambassadorship for U.S. Polo Assn., the fashion brand of the United States Polo Association. Singh has degrees in cultural heritage management, art history and Italian from New York University and Rome’s Università e Nobil Collegio Sant’Eligio.
