Samer Al Moubayed is the co-founder and chief executive of Furhat Robotics, an advanced AI and social robotics start-up based in Sweden. Furhat's vision is to build human-like robots with conversational and social AI that exhibit complex personalities and interact with people the way we interact with each other. The company is poised to be a leader in the ongoing robot revolution. Furhat believes robots will be a mainstream computer interface, with a development and social acceptance curve similar to that of the laptop and the smartphone. The company, established in 2014, has secured $2.5 million from London-based venture capitalists. Al Moubayed holds a PhD in Computer Science and is an affiliate faculty at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. He has held talks with the Metropolitan Police about using the robot to train officers and spiked interest from companies including KPMG, Honda and Disney.
