Ruohan Nie is the founder and creative director of Ruohan, a brand that helped advance China’s ‘quiet luxury’ movement. Featuring delicate fabrications and fluid silhouettes, her designs are driven by local craftsmanship and sustainable practices, including traditional Chinese silk dyeing techniques. Ruohan’s Shanghai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 collection was awarded the Lane Crawford x Labelhood Scholarship and selected for display at Harrods x Labelhood pop-ups. The brand later made its Paris Fashion Week debut, and by 2025 it was stocked at 30 international retailers including GL Paris, Printemps Doha and Barneys Japan, as well as more than 50 Chinese multi-brand boutiques.

Prior to founding Ruohan in 2021, Nie interned at American brands including Jenny Yoo Collection and Shaina Mote, and was a content creator and assistant buyer at La Garçonne. She then worked at The Row. In 2020, the Tianjin native won the China Institute Fashion Design competition, and in 2022, she earned a Yu Prize Creative Impact Award. In 2025, Nie won the inaugural Sustasia Fashion Prize for sustainable innovation in fashion and was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. She is a graduate of New York’s Parsons School of Design.
