The former Head of LVMH Fashion Group is now chief executive at Tory Burch, where he has led a global expansion effort.

Pierre-Yves Roussel is the chief executive of the American luxury lifestyle brand Tory Burch , where he has led a global expansion effort. He was previously the chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH’s Fashion Group.
Roussel obtained an MBA from Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania before working as an analyst for CCF bank. He also has a B.S. in economics from École Supérieure de Commerce in Paris. He subsequently joined McKinsey & Company , where he became a senior partner in 2004.
Roussel has led the Tory Burch business since 2019, when founder Tory Burch, who is also the brand’s creative director, relinquished the chief executive title. Since his appointment, he has led the brand’s accelerated global expansion, enhanced its infrastructure, positioning and desirability.
Prior to the top job at Tory Burch, Roussel led LVMH’s Fashion Group for 15 years. There, he helped to re-energise key brands in the unit’s portfolio, installing Phoebe Philo at Celine and Jonathan Anderson at Loewe.
Roussel has been a jury member for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, the ANDAM Fashion Awards, and the CFDA Fashion Incubator, and has acted as a business mentor to the contest’s winners. In 2021, he forged a partnership between Tory Burch and the Parsons School of Design, including the establishment of a $1 million scholarship fund. Roussel serves on the boards of Lectra and McLaren Group. Roussel is married to Tory Burch.
