Patricio Campillo
Artistic Director, Campillo
In a nod to his Mexican heritage, the creative director has infused his menswear brand with references to charro culture and artisanal embellishments.

Patricio Campillo is the founder and creative director of Campillo, a brand known for its rigorous tailoring and subtle nods to Mexican heritage. The designer regularly references charro culture and haciendas, celebrating local horsemanship traditions and ranch life through fashion. Campillo uses natural materials, many of which are sourced from small, family-owned workshops and artisans in Mexico, including bone carvers and silver-thread embroiderers. In 2024, Campillo reached the semi-finals of the LVMH Prize and debuted a menswear collection inspired by Mexico’s volcanoes. At his Autumn/Winter 2025 New York Fashion Week show, the designer made waves by wearing a shirt emblazoned with the words “El Golfo de México” in quiet protest of US President Trump’s decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico “the Gulf of America.”
Born and raised in Mexico City, Campillo draws inspiration from his formative years on his family’s ranch outside the capital. His time in 2012 working as a fashion journalist at The Reality Show magazine in Paris inspired him to become a fashion designer. Prior to founding Campillo in 2017, the designer held positions in styling, art direction and communications. Campillo holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and pursued advanced studies in luxury brand marketing.
