Nicole Rycroft

Nicole Rycroft is the founder and executive director of Canopy, an award-winning environmental nonprofit dedicated to protecting the world’s forests and climate by catalysing innovation in the fashion industry’s unsustainable supply chains. Rycroft was an elite level rower in her native Australia and physiotherapist before turning a passion for environmental activism into a profession. She founded Canopy in 1999 with the ambition to engage big companies in the textile and paper industries to prevent deforestation. 

Under Rycroft's leadership, Canopy has emerged as a powerful force in the global movement for forest conservation and has become an influential player in efforts to develop more sustainable textiles.
