Mustafa Kucuk and Vahap Kucuk
Co-Chief Executive & Board Member, LC Waikiki
The Turkish entrepreneurs behind LC Waikiki have built a fast-fashion empire quietly outpacing global giants by targeting underserved frontier markets, positioning the brand as a formidable challenger to Western dominance in global fashion retail.

Mustafa Küçük and Vahap Küçük are the Turkish business duo behind LC Waikiki, the fast-fashion powerhouse quietly outpacing Western giants like Zara and H&M across emerging markets. Under their leadership, the brand has grown into a global juggernaut with over 1,300 stores in 65 countries, dominating retail landscapes in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
Originally founded in Paris in 1988, LC Waikiki was acquired in 1997 by the Küçüks’ Tema Tekstil, a division of the family-run Taha Group. Since then, the brothers have transformed it into Turkey’s leading high-street brand, commanding over 15 percent of the domestic apparel market. In 2023, the company reported ₺144.7 billion (approx. $3.7 billion) in sales, surpassing local competitors like Koton and DeFacto by a wide margin.
The 2024 appointment of former Inditex executive Javier Villar as co-CEO alongside Mustafa Küçük signalled a shift in the company’s global ambition. With an emphasis on affordability, supply chain agility and deep market localisation, LC Waikiki has emerged as Africa’s largest fast fashion retailer and continues expanding across the Balkans, Gulf states, and most recently, Latin America with stores in Peru, Ecuador and Panama.
