Since her appointment in December 2021, Ortega Pérez has been instrumental in modernising the company’s approach, focusing on digital expansion and customer experience enhancements. Her leadership has contributed to Inditex’s record-breaking €5.4 billion net profit in 2023, underscoring her strategic vision.
Ortega Pérez’s career at Inditex spans over 15 years, beginning in an entry-level position at Bershka, where she developed a deep understanding of the fast fashion industry. Her ascent within the company has been marked by a commitment to integrating technology with retail, fostering a more responsive and sustainable business model. Notably, under her leadership, Zara has expanded its digital footprint, particularly in markets like China, while also enhancing in-store experiences to meet evolving consumer demands.
In addition to her corporate achievements, Ortega Pérez founded the Marta Ortega Pérez (MOP) Foundation in 2022, which focuses on curating world-class exhibitions in fashion and photography.
