Marley Emerson Dias is a writer, activist, and cultural critic. At the age of 10, Dias launched the award-winning “#1000BlackGirlBooks” campaign, which has donated over 15,000 titles featuring Black protagonists to libraries across the US. In 2024, Dias was honoured at the United Nations Young Activists Summit in Geneva for advancing racial equity and literacy. She has served as the national ambassador for the NEA’s “Read Across America” campaign and is the executive producer and host of “Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices” on Netflix. She has been recognised as a Do Something Visionary Vanguard, an Obama Foundation Voyager Scholar, and a United Nations Laureate, reflecting her commitment to justice through storytelling. Dias is currently studying sociology and African American studies at Harvard University.
