Loïc Prigent

Loïc Prigent is a renowned French documentary filmmaker and journalist, whose combination of authoritative knowledge on Paris couture, access to designers, and relentless (yet usually loving) satire of the industry have powered his career as one of fashion's foremost chroniclers.

Prigent's career in media began not with fashion, but with a passion for house music, creating ‘zines that garnered attention from influential figures from the Paris scene when he was just 19. Later, when writing for French newspaper Libération, his candid and uninhibited voice lead him to transition to television.

Networks seized on his humorous informed tone and he began producing clips on Paris Fashion Week. Prigent's television segments grew into longer-form specials such as “Habillé(e)s Pour L'Hiver” and “Habillé(e)s Pour L'Éte,” which aimed to provide viewers with an inside look into the whirlwind of Fashion Week.

His documentaries, including the acclaimed Signé Chanel and Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton, delve deep into the fashion industry, showcasing the behind the scenes of high-end collections.

In recent years, his work has adapted to the rapid pace of online media, providing unparalleled insights and access to the world of fashion to a burgeoning audience on YouTube and Instagram. His footage of Karl Lagerfeld was prominently featured in the 2023 Met exhibition, further cementing his influence. Prigent has also launched a a written word oriented website called fashionmoodboard.com.
