Lina Khalifeh is the founder of SheFighter, the first self-defence studio for women-only in Jordan and the Middle East. The company is designed to empower women physically and mentally through self-defence training, and has trained over 18,000 women. After starting training women at the basement of her parent’s house using her experience in taekwondo, kickboxing and Kung-Fu Khalifeh opened the studio in 2012. Khalifeh was honoured by former US President Barack Obama at the White House’s Emerging Global Entrepreneurship event in 2015, and awarded the Economic Empowerment Leadership award by Hillary Clinton and Vital Voices in Washington D.C. in 2018.
