Li Mingguang

Founder & Chief Executive, Urban Revivo

The man behind the Chinese fast-fashion giant Urban Revivo has rolled out stores beyond Asia to the US and UK, using an international design team to tailor the brand to local tastes.

Li Mingguang

Li Mingguang, also known as Leo Li, is the founder and chief executive of Chinese retailer Urban Revivo, as well as CEO of parent company Fashion Momentum Group. He has transformed the business from a modest domestic venture into a fast-fashion powerhouse with nearly 400 stores across China and a rapidly growing overseas footprint. After expanding to Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and the UK, Li launched a flagship store in New York in 2025 and revealed that Tokyo is next. It is an impressive store network for a brand that only launched in 2006, after Zara turned down Li’s proposal to be the Spanish giant’s China franchisee.

Urban Revivo’s trendy offering, accessible price points and ability to tap into Chinese consumers’ growing interest in homegrown brands have made it a formidable rival to global players like H&M and Mango in China. Fashion Momentum Group reportedly achieved revenue of over 6 billion yuan ($825 million) in 2022.  By 2025, Li was using a dual-design team in London and Guangzhou to tailor Urban Revivo products to different markets and was said to be planning a Hong Kong IPO.  It was the same year he revealed ambitions to surpass 200 overseas stores within the five years and eventually achieve overseas sales that exceed sales in China.
