The German model, who has gone viral more than once after appearing in John Galliano’s Maison Margiela shows, has brought new energy to the catwalk with his fearsome stalk.

German model Leon Dame is known for androgynous style and his distinctive, theatrical walk, which first went viral after Maison Margiela's Spring/Summer 2020 show during Paris Fashion Week.
Born and raised in Berlin, Dame also studied in the city before he got his start when he was scouted by German agency Tomorrow Is Another Day while waiting for a bus. He is currently with his modelling agency Viva. Dame studied at the Freie Universitat in Berlin and RADA in London. His career took off as he appeared on major runways, walking for Maison Margiela, Alexander McQueen and Jil Sander and appearing in campaigns for Loro Piana, Berluti and Valentino. He has worked with photographers including Steven Meisel, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti and Alasdair McLellan and has appeared on the covers of Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan and T Magazine. In 2023, he signed with DNA Model Management.
After years of working with John Galliano, Dame opened the designer’s much-talked about Maison Margiela 2024 couture show in an extreme corset, creating the moment of the year
Dame is also a saxophonist with an interest in theatre, and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
