Kim Kardashian

Founder, SKIMS

The reality star has gone beyond the business of influence and built one of fashion’s most successful direct-to-consumer brands in SKIMS.

Kim Kardashian

One of the most well-recognised names in the world, Kim Kardashian has transformed from a reality television star into a multi-hyphenate mogul, leveraging a massive digital following to build a business empire valued in the billions. As the founder of the inclusive lifestyle label Skims, she has redefined the global brand-building playbook.

Kardashian began her career as a celebrity stylist and closet organiser, opening the boutique chain Dash in 2007. That same year marked the debut of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, a series that served as the launchpad for her global influence. Aided by her former husband, Ye, Kardashian transitioned into a high-fashion icon, attending her first Met Gala in 2013. In 2014, she famously “broke the internet” with her Paper magazine cover, generating 15.9 million views in a single day.

She pivoted this ubiquity into a diversified business empire. In 2019, alongside Jens Grede, she launched Skims, which has evolved from a shapewear disruptor into a lifestyle powerhouse. As of November 2025, the company reached a valuation of $5 billion, outvaluing traditional competitors and expanding into activewear through a landmark partnership with Nike. In early 2025, Skims acquired her skincare and cosmetics venture, SKKN BY KIM, to consolidate her retail holdings under a single umbrella.

In 2022, Kardashian co-founded the private equity firm SKKY Partners with Jay Sammons, targeting high-growth consumer brands. Her investment portfolio now includes the luxury skincare label 111Skin and the condiments brand Truff. Her fashion influence remains peerless; after serving as a face of Balenciaga, she curated the Spring/Summer 2023 “Ciao, Kim” collection for Dolce & Gabbana and was honoured with the Innovation Award at the 2023 CFDA Awards.

Beyond entertainment and fashion, Kardashian is a prominent activist for criminal justice reform, having passed the “baby bar“ exam in 2021 to further her advocacy. As of 2026, her net worth is estimated at $1.7 billion.
