Jonathan Wingfield

Jonathan Wingfield is a respected magazine editor currently at new publication System as an editorial board member.

System, published out of London is the passion of project of Wingfield, Thomas Lenthal , Alexia Niedzielski and Elizabeth von Guttman. Wingfiled joined System from Numéro where he worked with his longtime collaborator art director Thomas Lenthal. The pair have also collaborated on a title of their own, Paradis, an “occasional revue” which publishes “slow-paced cultural content.” Wingfield has also contributed to Nowness and BoF.

For the first issue of System Wingfield interviewed Nicolas Ghesquière several times between early December 2012 and late March 2013. The published result was the first time Ghesquière had chosen to speak publicly about his shock departure after 15 years at Balenciaga, and was one of the biggest scoops of the year.

The issue also included interviews with designers Azzedine Alaïa and Valentino, art director Marc Ascoli, and former Louis Vuitton chief executive Yves Carcelle, a clear indication of Wingfield’s standing in the industry and popularity with its members.
