Jennifer Wong is the chief executive of Vancouver-based Aritzia, a fashion retailer with over 100 stores across North America and global e-commerce reach. Wong began her career with the company over 35 years ago as a sales associate eventually rising to president and chief operating officer. During her tenure, she led a number of critical initiatives for the retailer, including its US expansion in 2007, e-commerce launch in 2012 and the relocation of its distribution centre in 2018.
She was appointed CEO in May 2022. In the course of two fiscal years, Artizia’s net revenue grew by 56 percent. Under Wong’s leadership, Aritzia has expanded its physical presence as well as significantly enhanced its digital footprint. The pandemic forced Aritzia to pivot towards becoming an online-first retailer, a shift that Wong has embraced, capitalising on platforms like TikTok to reach younger audiences and drive sales. This digital push, combined with Aritzia’s signature style that evokes the “quiet luxury” trend, has made Aritzia one of the fastest growing retailers in the North American market in recent years.
