Ivan Bart

Former president of IMG Models Ivan Bart guided the agency to represent such success stories as  Kate Moss , Carolyn Murphy, Gisele Bundchen, Joan Smalls , Kate Upton, Lily Donaldson and Tyra Banks. In May 2018 Bart was appointed to head up IMG's global fashion events business, in addition to his responsibilities as president. In this role he oversaw events including New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.

Bart believes his success, and IMG’s success, is due to “the infrastructure at IMG we just have all of these resources that other agencies don’t have, we were able to create bigger models and manage them correctly. And that’s all we did.”

Bart credited his industry leading approach however, to his time at Ford, “Looking after those up-and-coming models like Bridget Hall and Shalom Harlow helped me to run IMG Models now, to realise that this business is always about the next generation.” Prior to IMG, Bart was at a total of eight modelling agencies. “Ford was pivotal but actually I learnt the most and really established my career at a company called ICE, which was this cool, hipster, anti-fashion modelling agency.”

Bart studied psychology in upstate New York, “at a state university, not a big-name college, I think studying psychology has really helped in this business as you always have to analyse people, their motivations and desires, which is especially significant when you’re dealing with young and developing women.”

“I’ll tell you, the new generation of supermodels are always the models with personality, always the models you want to work with again." Of anyone, Bart would know.

In March 2023 Bart stepped down from his role at IMG Models.

In October 2023, Bart passed away at the age of 60.
