Emma Roach
Set Designer
The set designer is the go-to for brands like Valentino and Calvin Klein to convey their brand stories in larger-than-life experiences.

Emma Roach creates set designs that are reminiscent of David Lynch films, as well as art and photography of the ’70s, becoming the go-to set designer for Raf Simons , Calvin Klein , Hussein Chalayan and Valentino for creative sets that add another dimension to the brands’ storytelling.
Roach came from an art background, having studied sculpture and painting, and after graduation spent a few years assisting stylists and set designers such as Sarah Richardson and Shona Heath . The artist frequently references art and music that have a darker note to them, landing her commissions from magazines for international editions of Vogue — including British Vogue's June 2019 cover shoot with Madonna — Dazed, AnOther and W Magazine.
Her studio, Emma Roach Studio, which she established in 2007, is a company offering set design for fashion editorial, advertising shoots and runway shows. Roach is responsible for the pre-production, realisation and on-set for brands like Hussein Chalayan, Mulberry, Raf Simons and Calvin Klein. She has worked with photographers including Ellen von Unwerth , Tim Walker and Willy Vanderperre , among others.
