Dennis Okwera

Dennis Nyero is a model and activist. Having arrived in London as an asylum seeker from Uganda in 2010, Okwera went on to study biochemistry at University of East London, where he was asked to model for a friend’s photography project. Since then, he has featured inseveral notable fashion publications including Vogue, i-D and Dazed, as well as campaigns for Browns Fashion, Christian Louboutin and Gant. His personal experience as a refugee from a war-stricken area led Okwera to found the Lumule Foundation — a charity aimed at empowering the children of his native parish Lumule through education schemes andrebuilding schools devastated by conflict.
