David Fischer

Founder, Highsnobiety

Fischer created streetwear’s must-visit digital destination, thanks to his publication’s popular “What Drops Today” feature and impactful partnerships with leading brands.

David Fischer

David Fischer is the founder and publisher of Highsnobiety, a lifestyle publication which grew out of a streetwear blog launched in 2005.

With around 500 million social media impressions, and nine million unique visitors a month, Highsnobiety produces daily curated content on music, the arts, fashion and culture. The Highsnobiety team also curates shopping tool What Drops Now, and in 2016 Fischer launched creative production agency Highsnobiety Plus, all of which fall under the group Titel Media. In January 2018, the previously self-funded publication raised an $8.5 million Series A round led by London-based venture firm Felix Capital .

Born in Geneva, Fischer launched Highsnobiety while studying business administration in his native Switzerland. “It was at a time that there wasn't a lot of choice for someone interested in a creative discipline in fashion outside of fashion design,” Fischer told BoF. “There was no fit for me in terms of courses offered in Europe.”

In 2009, he moved to Berlin to open the website’s first office, which expanded to include an outpost in New York three years later. Growing from 7 team members in 2012, the team has doubled in size each year, and now boasts over 80 people working across the two offices. Highsnobiety attracted upward of 9 million unique visitors monthly in 2018.

Highsnobiety has collaborated with footwear and streetwear brands like Adidas, Carhartt, Puma, Kith’s Ronnie Fieg and Anicorn, as well as artists and lifestyle companies like bike maker Aventon.
