The Paris- and Milan-based creative duo, known for their cross-disciplinary visual storytelling, have crafted cinematic campaigns and refined brand worlds for Loewe and Bottega Veneta.

Carina Frey and Stefanie Barth are a collaborative art direction and creative consultancy duo, renowned for their immersive, cross-disciplinary approach to fashion, design, and visual storytelling. Working together since 2009, after studying at Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach, they now lead studios in Paris and Milan—blending editorial, film, packaging and brand identity into a singular visual language.
From 2009 to 2024, Frey & Barth served as the art directors of Double Magazine, where they shaped the publication’s refined yet experimental aesthetic, consistently championing emerging talents while pushing the boundaries of print. Their editorial sensibility informs a broad client roster, including Bottega Veneta for whom they created a new visual identity as well as packaging and special projects with Rosemarie Trockel and Walter Pfeiffer. Other standout collaborations include years of Hermès womenswear campaigns and special projects, Burberry’s full brand relaunch which included a new logo design, packaging and campaigns.
Specialists in visual identity and design, the duo have contributed significantly to brand storytelling for Phoebe Philo (notably crafting her minimalist packaging concept). Their cross-media fluency spans campaign direction, book design, installations and digital content.
Their recent work includes shaping the visual world of Fara Homidi, crafting the identity and campaigns for Setchu, and directing a campaigns for Loewe. Known for their cinematic eye, bold use of typography and storytelling, Frey & Barth continue to redefine the role of creative directors in a visual culture that demands both intimacy and scale.
