Armand Hadida
Founder and Artistic Director, L'Éclaireur
The founder of the cult Parisian concept stores also opened his first US flagship in the heart of Los Angeles’s design district.

Armand Hadida launched Parisian boutique L'Éclaireur in 1980. Originally housed in a small gallery space on the Champs-Elysées, L'Éclaireur has become an international destination for those seeking exciting emerging designers. The retailer's immersive store environments and creative interiors have distinguished his stores ever since.
In 1990, the original store relocated to a larger premises in Paris’s Le Marais, where it would pioneer the retail concept of mixing interior design, furniture and fashion, and continue to stock fashion’s emerging iconoclasts including Comme des Garçons, Dries van Noten, Yojhi Yamamoto, Alexander McQueen and Ann Demeulemeester .
Today, L'Éclaireur boasts three Parisian destinations, with each store an exercise in artistic and innovative design. In September 2016, Hadida expanded stateside, opening a design-dedicated boutique in West Hollywood. This newest venture reflects Hadida’s increased commitment to the design industry. He has also participated in events such as PAD Paris and London, Collective Design Fair and Design Days Dubai.
Hadida has said, “L'Éclaireur, as the name would suggest, is in all simplicity the desire to stand out from the crowd, to discover new designers and to avoid taking the easy way out. What I have always wanted, and what I still want, is to put across a message while unveiling a certain type of fashion, even if this is sometimes an arduous task."
