Anthony Turner

As one of the most in-demand hair stylists within the fashion industry, Dazed's contributing beauty editor Anthony Turner boasts an extensive portfolio of clients that includes luxury brands such as Jil Sander , Dior, Victoria Beckham and Peter Pilotto. Regularly working alongside photographers such as Willy Vanderperre , Alisdair McLellan and Craig McDean , Turner’s signature dramatic and flamboyant aesthetic has appeared in a number of editorials and covers for magazines such as Interview, Love Magazine, Vogue Nippon, AnOther and i-D, as well as numerous advertising campaigns.

A prominent session stylist, Turner has worked alongside L’Oréal Professionnel at a number of showcases in New York, Amsterdam, Milan and Paris. In 2013, he was nominated as the brand's styling ambassador. Turner has been shortlisted for the ‘Session Stylist of the Year’ awards at Creative Head magazine's Most Wanted Awards, alongside other luminaries such as Sam McKnight , Tina Outen and Eugene Souleiman . In 2018, Dazed announced the appointment of six new contributing beauty editors, including Turner to join the publication's current beauty editor, Yadim. 

Turner began his career working as an assistant for hairdressing chain Toni & Guy in the British midlands in 2003. On moving to London in 2005, the young hairstylist secured a position at the award winning boutique salon Taylor Taylor, before landing a position as an assistant at New York Fashion Week with the master stylist Guido Paulo, eventually becoming a full time member of his team in New York.

An artist in his own right, Turner has previously sketched designers that have been featured on the cover of i-D. In February 2019, Turner released his own fanzine promoting LGBTQ+ youth, in partnership with Another Man contributor and photographer Sarah Piantado, titled "Mortal Remains". The publication showcases collaborations with queer teens across the globe, largely influenced by Turner's own days in Birmingham's goth scene growing up.
