The architect-turned-creative director is testing the boundaries of Saudi Arabia’s menswear codes, blending Bedouin-inspired silhouettes with androgynous minimalism.

Ahmed Hassan founded Riyadh-based menswear label KML with his sister, Razan Hassan, in 2022. Rooted in cultural identity and spirituality, the creative director has created a brand that both champions and challenges Saudi Arabia’s menswear codes. Known for his fusion of Arab tradition with modern minimalism, Ahmed combines razor-sharp tailoring with gender fluid lines and drapery from antiquity. Rapidly becoming one of the leading fashion voices in the Gulf region, KML was named a semi-finalist for the 2025 LVMH Prize and picked up by Selfridges in London the same year.
With few schools in Saudi Arabia teaching fashion formally, Ahmed began his design journey by studying architecture. His time at Zaha Hadid Architects laid the foundation for the structural influences seen in KML garments. Razan Hassan studied law, bringing a business-minded approach to the company. With the support of Saudi 100 Brands and the Fashion Commission, the label was shown in Paris and Milan, following its debut at Riyadh Fashion Week in 2024.
