Sears' Canadian Arm Heads to Court to Execute Restructuring

Sears Canada, the struggling offshoot of Sears Holdings, said it was seeking court protection from creditors in Ontario to carry out a restructuring plan.

NEW YORK, United States — Sears Canada Inc., the struggling offshoot of Sears Holdings Corp., said it was seeking court protection from creditors in Ontario to carry out a restructuring plan.

“Sears Canada Group will work to complete its restructuring in a timely fashion” and hopes to exit court protection as soon as possible this year, the company said in a statement Thursday.
