American Eagle Meets Third Quarter Profit Forecasts

PITTSBURGH, PA, United States — American Eagle Outfitters Inc. on Wednesday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $75.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Pittsburgh-based company said it had profit of 41 cents.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 41 cents per share.

The teen clothing retailer posted revenue of $940.6 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $940.7 million.

For the current quarter ending in January, American Eagle expects its per-share earnings to range from 37 cents to 39 cents.

American Eagle shares have increased 22 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 21 percent in the last 12 months.
