Diesel’s parent company, OTB Group, announced the appointment of Andrea Rigogliosi as the Italian denim brand’s new chief executive on Wednesday.

Rigogliosi, who will report to OTB CEO Ubaldo Minelli, brings a wealth of luxury, retail and fashion experience to the role. He was most recently global head of retail and commercial at Miu Miu, and held senior positions at Fendi and Christian Dior Couture during a decade-long tenure at LVMH.

The role had been vacant for almost three years, following the departure of Eraldo Poletto, who stepped down due to personal reasons in 2023, just 7 months after assuming the position. During this time, OTB chairman and Diesel founder Renzo Rosso oversaw the brand’s direction.

Diesel’s repositioning strategy, which refocused it as an alternative luxury label under Glenn Martens, helped the brand grow 3.2 percent in 2024 versus the prior year, despite its Breganze-based parent company, which also owns Maison Margiela, Marni, Jil Sander and Viktor&Rolf, reporting a 4.4 percent drop in its total annual sales.
