Kuwaiti retail giant, Alshaya Group, has struck a deal with Boohoo Group to retain its regional rights to the Debenhams brand, which Boohoo bought out in January, according to a Gulf News report.

In addition to brands under the Debenhams umbrella it already stocks, including Burton, Coast, Dorothy Perkins, Karen Millen, Oasis, Wallis and Warehouse, Alshaya will also add other brands from Boohoo’s portfolio, including boohooMAN, Nasty Gal and MissPap, to its stores.

Alshaya operates 23 Debenhams in-mall stores in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman and Qatar.

“Alshaya has a great understanding of retailing in the region, are well placed to successfully drive the growth and popularity of Debenhams in the Middle East, and can leverage Boohoo’s digital pure play expertise,” said John Lyttle, CEO of Boohoo Group.
