H&M will launch its long-anticipated collaboration with Kolkata-based designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee on Thursday.
Sabyasachi’s bridal and formal event wear is some of the most coveted in India as well as among the Indian diaspora and the Sabyasachi x H&M collaboration, the fast fashion giant’s first with an Indian designer, takes “Wanderlust” as its theme.
The collection’s 70 pieces feature the classic Sabyasachi aesthetic of rich textiles, chintz prints and layered references to Indian craft and heritage, in modern as well as classic Indian silhouettes, at a range of accessible price points up to 9,999 rupees ($135).
”It has been an absolute joy to be able to bring my brand signature into a more accessible format with this very special collaboration. I hope it sparks a cross-cultural exchange and a sense of wonderment to discover and embrace what modern Indian design has to offer,” Sabyasachi said.
