Perry Ellis Reports 4Q Loss

MIAMI, United States — Perry Ellis International Inc. on Tuesday reported a loss of $17.7 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Miami-based company said it had a loss of $1.18. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 35 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.

The clothing maker posted revenue of $214.4 million in the period, which met Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $7.3 million, or 49 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $899.5 million.

Perry Ellis expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.90 to $1.95 per share, with revenue in the range of $910 million to $915 million.

Perry Ellis shares have decreased 3 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 27 percent in the last 12 months.
