ESPOO, Finland — Lumene Oy, a Finnish maker of cosmetics made out of wild berries, named a Unilever NV haircare manager as chief executive officer in a bid to expand abroad.
Michel Dallemagne, who led Unilever’s global haircare business, starts the new job Tuesday, the Finnish company said in a statement Monday. The executive helped double Unilever’s haircare business, which has brands such as TRESemme and Dove hair.
“Michel is a very accomplished leader with a proven track record in creating significant business growth,” Lumene said.
The new CEO will focus on boosting profitability as Lumene accelerates international growth. The company, which also makes skin creams, employs about 530 people and had sales of about 90 million euros ($100 million) last year.
