The Council of Fashion Designers of America has released the preliminary schedule for New York Fashion Week. Area will kick off the Spring/Summer 2025 season on Sept. 6, while CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund 2023 winner Melitta Baumeister will close out the week on Sept. 11. Off-White, which typically shows in Paris, is set to make its New York debut under creative director Ib Kamara on Sept. 8, while minimalist Swedish favourite will also show on Sept. 10 after having presented in Paris last season.
The schedule includes around 60 designers, down from around 70 for Autumn/Winter 2024 in January. Mainstays Gabriela Hearst and Altuzarra; Helmut Lang (hotly watched under the creative direction of Peter Do since May 2023) and insider favourite newcomer Fforme were absent from the preliminary schedule. Proenza Schouler and Ralph Lauren will show off schedule on Sept. 4 and 5, respectively.
After opting not to show during haute couture week in June, Alaïa will present in New York on Sept. 6. Ronald van der Kemp will also its their New York debut.
Theophilio is back on the schedule after cancelling its show in February. Other returning brands include 3.1 Phillip Lim, Khaite, Carolina Herrera, Coach, Collina Strada, Diotima, Eckhaus Latta, Elena Velez, Michael Kors, Luar, Tory Burch, Sandy Liang, Willy Chavarria and H&M-owned Cos.
