PARIS — Giambattista Valli has cancelled his Jan. 26 haute couture show in Paris, citing a review of the business, his namesake label said in a statement on Thursday, fueling talk the fashion house faces financial difficulties.

“The House is currently undertaking an in-depth review of the organization of its activities in order to ensure the company’s sustainability. Fully focused on this process, it has decided not to hold the show scheduled for the next Paris Fashion Week on January 26, 2026,” said the brand, in an emailed statement.

The last-minute withdrawal from the Paris fashion calendar of the label founded by Italian couturier Valli in 2005 comes amid reports of financial struggles and a hunt for a new investor.

The Paris-based fashion house has been majority owned by Artemis, the family office of Kering’s Pinault family, since 2021. It first took a minority stake in the label in 2017.

One of the few non-French designers admitted to the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Valli debuted his first couture collection on the official Paris calendar in 2011.

Known for voluminous tulle gowns and lightweight draping, Valli has dressed celebrities like Rihanna and Ariana Grande for red-carpet events.

He was named officer of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2025.
