We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager, Logistics to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective logistics operations for our Australian and New Zealand businesses. You will play a key role in managing our third-party vendor to ensure seamless inbound and outbound movements, domestic transport and reverse logistics to support our boutiques across both countries.
This role requires a strong understanding of logistics principles, excellent vendor management skills, meticulous attention to detail, a high level of discipline in inventory management to ensure stock accuracy, and the ability to lead and develop a direct report.

You will play a key role in managing our third-party vendor to ensure seamless inbound and outbound movements, domestic transport and reverse logistics to support our boutiques across both countries.
This role requires a strong understanding of logistics principles, excellent vendor management skills, meticulous attention to detail, a high level of discipline in inventory management to ensure stock accuracy, and the ability to lead and develop a direct report.
Job responsibilities
- Vendor Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for our third-party reverse logistics vendor, ensuring adherence to SLAs and performance metrics.
- Monitor warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, reticketing and dispatch, to guarantee efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the vendor to monitor progress and ensure that deadlines are respected, resolve any operational issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of the warehouse operations.
- Logistics Operations:
- Oversee the end-to-end logistics process for all products, from international inbound shipments to final delivery to boutiques and outbound for re-exports.
- Optimise transportation routes and methods to minimise costs and transit times while maintaining service levels.
- Monitor inventory movements at the warehouse to ensure accurate stock reconciliation.
- Coordinate logistics for new boutiques set-up, product launches, promotions, events, sales, seasonal campaigns and pop-ups,
- Develop and implement logistics policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Boutique Support:
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to boutiques across Australia and New Zealand.
- Address any logistics-related queries or issues from boutiques promptly and effectively.
- Work closely with boutique managers and back of house teams to understand their needs and provide tailored logistics solutions.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Logistics Executive, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure high levels of team performance.
- Reporting, Analysis & Documentation:
- Generate regular reports on logistics performance, including costs, delivery times, and inventory accuracy.
- Contribute to costing, budgeting and forecasting for logistics operations.
- Prepare SOPs and procedure manuals for internal and external use.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant customs regulations, import/export requirements, and Australian/New Zealand transportation laws and internal policies and procedures.
Profile
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers and warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of international freight, customs clearance, and domestic distribution within Australia and New Zealand.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail, consistent, reliable, accountable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Experience in the retail or luxury goods sector.
- Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
