Job Details
Carhartt WIP is part of the WIP Trading AG. Our family-owned business group started as a licensee and European distributor of the US workwear manufacturer Carhartt in the early 1990s. Since then, it develops its own collections based on workwear originals.
Carhartt Work In Progress aims to continuously progress and evolve, without ever losing sight of its origins. Over the course of the past three decades, our business has developed organically, along with its customers, the culture that surrounds the brand, and its employees who have helped shape what Carhartt WIP is today.
Reporting directly to the Chief Creative Officer (Berlin), you translate the brand’s creative vision into contemporary visual executions, working in close daily collaboration with Production (Paris), Styling (Basel) and Photostudio (Berlin) to ensure high-quality delivery of all creative assets. For our office in Paris, we are looking for you as an Art Director Image (m/f/x).
Your Responsibilities
-
Art direct campaigns, lookbooks, and editorial shoots, with the perspective to also oversee e-commerce on-model productions, ensuring a consistent visual language across all touchpoints - alongside CCO.
-
Create and present professional decks to brief production teams on upcoming campaigns and projects.
-
Oversee casting and styling to maintain brand consistency, highlight key products, and strengthen seasonal storytelling.
-
Act as a key link between Design, Sales, and Creative, translating newness and key pieces into visual storytelling that balances commercial objectives with the creative direction.
-
Ensure that all visual content aligns with the Carhartt WIP brand identity and overall marketing strategy.
-
Supervise post-production processes (in collaboration with Production), including image selection and retouching, ensuring all assets meet the brand’s creative standards.
-
The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration across teams and disciplines.
Your Profile
-
Several years of professional experience in a comparable role, ideally within the fashion industry.
-
International experience is preferred.
-
Deep understanding of the fashion market, trends, and competitive brands, combined with a solid knowledge of the Carhartt WIP consumer and a genuine interest in contemporary culture and design.
-
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems pragmatically, adapt when needed, and collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
-
Fluency in English (C1 level) with excellent verbal and written communication skills; German and/or French is a plus.
-
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Apple Keynote, and Microsoft 365.
-
Willingness to travel regularly for shoots and campaign productions across global markets.
-
Strong interest in fashion awareness of relevant industry trends and competitive brands.
Please send us your portfolio and your salary expectation.
