Design Assistant – Womenswear

About Roland Mouret

Established in London in 1998, Roland Mouret is renowned for its era-defining approach to modern femininity. With an intuitive understanding of the female body and a mastery of draping, the brand creates sculptural silhouettes defined by confident colour, architectural construction and exceptional craftsmanship. Entering its third decade, Roland Mouret continues to evolve, designing refined sensual ready-to-wear for the multifaceted woman of today.

The Role

Roland Mouret is looking for a Design Assistant to join our London-based design team on a full-time basis. Working across the ready-to-wear collection, this role will support the development of seasonal collections with a particular focus on occasionwear and eveningwear.

Working closely with the design team, you will assist across all stages of the design process, from early research and concept development through to tech pack preparation, fittings and final delivery. You will be confident using Photoshop, have a strong eye for fabric, silhouette and finish, and bring an enthusiastic and proactive approach to day-to-day studio work. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, contribute and grow within a collaborative design environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the design team to support the development of styles from initial concept through to SMS stage.
• Assist in preparing and updating tech packs, line-ups and internal collection documents across main collections and capsules.
• Produce and update Photoshop CADs and design boards, responding to feedback where required.
• Contribute to seasonal research, supporting silhouette development as well as fabric and colour direction.
• Support fittings, assisting with sample organisation where required and translating design changes into digital mock-ups.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Technical teams throughout the development process, including supporting the preparation of technical documentation.
• Assist with fabric and trim research, with a focus on finishes and embellishments.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience within a contemporary premium or luxury womenswear brand.
• Strong understanding of the Roland Mouret aesthetic, with a solid knowledge of silhouette, proportion and garment construction.
• Confident using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.
• Knowledge of PLM systems is preferable.
• Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a collaborative studio environment.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
