Freelance Adobe Illustrator Specialist/ designer

The Iris van Herpen Atelier is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Freelance Illustrator Specialist/designer to join our team and help shape the technical foundation of our groundbreaking designs. The Iris van Herpen Atelier is known for pushing the boundaries of artistic expression, craftsmanship and technology.

Role Overview:
As Illustrator Specialist/designer, you will work closely with our atelier team to create and refine (technical) illustrator files, designed both in garment patterns as well as spacial, ready for laser cutting. You will be a key contributor to the realization of our intricate, sculptural garment. Your work will include translating creative designs into precise, production-ready files., ensuring all elements are ready for fabrication while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and perfectionate technical files for laser cutting, ensuring accuracy aesthetic alignment with design intentions.

- Collaborate closely with our Master Tailors and R&D, with awareness of the further construction steps and providing technical solutions to lay a solid technical foundation for the further process in bringing complex designs to life.

- Troubleshoot and optimize files for fabrication, providing solutions to enhance efficiency and maintain the atelier's high quality. 

Requirements:

- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator

- Degree in Industrial Design / Architecture / Fashion/ or Graphic Design (with a focus on construction).

- Basic knowledge of pattern making is preferred.

- Experience with lasercutting fine material is a high advantage. 

- Familiarity with 3D design programs (e.g., Rhino, Blender) is an advantage.

- Based in Amsterdam.
