Innovation Concept Designer

The Innovation Concept Designer will focus on creating highly Innovative concepts and products geared towards high performance competitive athletes as well as driving progress towards On's sustainability goals. Working within a collaborative environment, you will be involved in the full concept creation process, influencing the future direction of On's product offering.

Your Mission

- Be an integral part of the Innovation Design team and push the boundaries of On's pinnacle future product design and technology platforms
- Own your projects from concept through to final delivery
- Collaborate closely with athletes from On's world class athlete roster and sport science team to drive data driven design and Innovation
- You will leverage your design skills to co-create and sharpen On's design vision
- Develop new concepts through mock-ups, advanced prototyping methods, visuals, 2D and 3D files
- Collaborate with our Zurich based- and our Vietnam based development team on creating functional and performance-driven products
- Develop new workflows and leverage new digital creation tools to improve On's ability to Innovate and speed up prototyping and manufacturing capabilities
- You will collaborate with and travel to Vietnam and Europe based development centres 2-4 times a year

Your Story

- You hold a bachelor or master's degree in product/industrial design and/or design engineering
- You have 5+ years of experience working on global innovation teams delivering world class innovation solutions and design for performance products
- You have an innovative mind with a strong drive to push the boundaries of product design and Innovation
- Strong interest for performance products, athlete insights and data as well as a connection to sports and are able to translate those into products
- Strong Athlete Insight/Data driven design approach that informs highly functional solutions
- Deep knowledge in advanced materials and manufacturing processes
- You have excellent 2D and 3D software skills
- You have good sketching and mock-up skills
- You have a structured mind, excellent communication, and presentation skills
- You thrive when working with cross-functional teams - material scientists, engineers, product managers, designers
- You are fluent in English both written and spoken

You will work in the Innovation Design Studio with an international team of experts, developers, engineers across different disciplines, designing and developing the most advanced products and technologies at On. We deliver breakthrough Innovation and Design by leveraging state of the art manufacturing technologies and design tools.

This team is specifically tasked with designing and developing the most exciting long-term innovation solutions into high level product concepts that are driven by Athlete Performance and Sustainability goals.

To be truly disruptive in this space this team rethinks the ways our products are made from the ground up and seamlessly integrates design and technology to unlock new opportunities.
