About Bode:

Bode is a New York based, luxury menswear brand that expresses a sentimentality for the past through the study of personal narratives and historical techniques. The brand’s founder, Emily Bode, was the first female designer to show at Men’s NYFW with a collection entirely made of one-of-a-kind garments.

Today Bode has a storefront, tailor shop, and coffee shop in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and sells to almost 100 retailers across the globe.

About the position:

Bode is looking to hire a motivated and organized Production Intern for the Fall 2021 semester. As a Production Intern, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the luxury garment production industry. You will work closely with your supervisor to maintain deadlines and follow the complete cycle of garment manufacturing.

Qualifications:

• Must be a junior or senior studying fashion-related major at an accredited university and able to receive credit for time of internship
• Computer skills, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and proficient in Excel
• Knowledge of sewing, seam finishes, stitch types, fabrics, etc.
• Ability to learn and excel in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
• Effective project and time management skills
• Self-motivated, ability to multitask and problem solve
• Excellent communication skills
• Critical thinker with attention to even the smallest of details
• Overall interest in fashion production as it relates to other departments in the fashion industry

Responsibilities:

• Assist with tech packs and fittings, keeping records of adjustments per style as needed
• Evaluate samples and measure specs
• Draw technical flats using Adobe Illustrator
• Keep detailed records of trims, finishes, fabrics, etc. per style
• Assist with communication and occasional trips to our local factories
• Track and handle shipments
• Aid in quality control of domestic and overseas production orders
• Support the Production and Development team during the current production calendar
• Additional duties and assignments, as requested
