Finance Assistant

CRAIG GREEN is looking for a Finance Assistant to act as the company’s bookkeeper and be the main point of contact with our external Accountancy firm. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to kick start their accounting career in the fashion industry. You will be reporting to our Business Director and will gain exposure across all departments in a dynamic and fast-growing fashion wholesale business.

Main responsibilities

• General bookkeeping of the CRAIG GREEN accounts, including bank reconciliations, processing staff expenses, etc
• Maintaining Sales and Purchase Ledgers, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate
• Credit control, actively engaging with all clients and suppliers
• Supporting our accountancy firm with Management Accounts; VAT returns; Payroll; Corporate Tax return filing; PAYE and any other Filing of Statutory Financial Statements
• Work closely with all departments, including design, sales, production and studio teams, ensuring all finance related queries are handled in a timely manner

Skills and Experience

• 1-2 years of previous bookkeeping experience in a similar role, experience in a fashion-related business is preferred
• Started or willing to study for AAT qualification and then ACCA/ACA
• Proven ability to use accounting software, such as Xero, ApprovalMax, Datamolino
• A good academic record, with good attention to detail
• High standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data
• High energy and team player spirit
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, additional languages are a bonus
• Excellent organisation skills with a high level of attention to detail
