Job Details

TO THE MARKET is on a mission to change retail manufacturing to empower people and protect the planet.  We are seeking multiple, diversely experienced, Sales Leaders to join us in this effort.  In partnership with the Head of Sales and the company leadership team, these Sales Leaders will focus on day-day sales execution as well as oversight of major accounts across our industry verticals (apparel, accessories, home goods, and PPE).  They will play an integral role in the execution of our strategic initiatives, and develop partnerships that drive customer acquisition and retention that scale revenue to the next level at TO THE MARKET. 

The ideal candidates should be excited by selling into new markets, strategizing next steps, negotiating complex deals and beating the competition in head to head opportunities.  These leaders will report to the Head of Sales and be responsible for executing the sales strategy for the organization.  They will have significant input and impact on the company’s growth trajectory as well as structure as the company grows.  As with all start-up roles, a high degree of flexibility and adaptability are essential to success.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong relationships with existing TTM contacts.
  • Seek out, connect, and develop strong relationships with all targeted buy teams.
  • Own and achieve sales goals as directed and established by the Head of Sales and company leadership team.
  • Partner on all levels with all TTM departments above, below, and lateral to the betterment of TTM and growth of the business.
  • Add input from your area of expertise to impact the total company (sales plan, forecasts, KPI reporting, organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning).
  • Work closely with the Operations team on all account sales related tasks (onboarding, routing guide compliance, EDI, planning, etc)
  • Focus and effect sell through as well as sell by partnering with store, and TTM management and marketing to bring success.
  • Responsible for meeting internal margin and profitability goals.
  • Manage and develop shared sales assistants to grow and flourish in their roles. 
  • Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% once safe to do so
  • Assist in planning and execution of trade shows and other events as beneficial to TTM.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Ideal Background:

  • Min 5 years of relevant sales experience securing and nurturing major accounts.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing businesses and exceeding quota.  Sales experience ideally in a retail, hospitality, or consumer goods environments preferred.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them.  A good understanding of managing a robust business with major retailers, including but not limited to: retail math, store financials, assortment plans, retail sales reports, RTV requests, damage agreements, and markdown requests.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Knowing and understanding product and trends and what will work for your clients.
  • Ability to excel in private label development opportunities.
  • Proven ability to work well with cross-functional teams
  • Strength in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
