Launched in 2011 by friends Tatiana Santo Domingo and Dana Alikhani, Muzungu Sisters is a London-based slow fashion brand that offers ethically sourced handmade luxury goods produced by 20 different artisan communities from across the world. Each piece embodies remarkable history, is sustainably produced, and is designed to be kept for years to come.
The founders are firm proponents of the in-person retail experience, and a large part of the Muzungu Sisters’ identity is the concept of thoughtfully curated pop up shops around the world. Their pop up journey has taken them to Madrid, Paris, Monaco, Mykonos, Saint-Tropez, Beirut, Gstaad, Milan, Los Angeles, a stand-alone pop up in New York as well as a 2019 pop up at Barneys NYC.
We have traveled across the world to find the most unusual, beautiful and sustainable fabrics, as well as the best embroiderers, weavers, and ateliers. Our items never go out of style, and are designed to be worn year after year.
Muzungu Sisters strives to uphold cultural respect and social responsibility, abiding by the principle of leaving behind no human footprint. All of the goods featured on Muzungu Sisters are produced under ethical working conditions.
