Power Moves | Vanessa Kingori’s New Role at Condé Nast, Everlane’s Founder Leaves CEO Role

Kingori has been named chief business officer of Condé Nast and Michael Preysman will transition to a sustainability-focused position at Everlane.

Vanessa Kingori MBE’s new positions at Condé Nast. The former publishing director of British Vogue — as well as both first-ever female business lead at the title and Black publisher at Condé Nast Britain — has been named chief business officer of Condé Nast and Vogue European business advisor. In her new roles, Kingori will lead UK commercial teams across all Condé Nast brands as the company continues to restructure.

Everlane names Andrea O’Donnell chief executive. The direct-to-consumer brand’s founder Michael Preysman will step away from the CEO post to take on a sustainability-focused role as executive chair and “climate activist.” O’Donnell joins the company from Decker Brands, parent company of Ugg and Teva, where she was president of the Ugg brand.

Kering Appoints Thierry Marty President of North and Southeast Asia Pacific. In the newly-created position, Marty will oversee the French luxury group’s development in markets including Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He will be based in Seoul and report to Kering’s group managing director Jean-François Palus.

Burberry appoints new chief digital and analytics officer. CP Duggal, who most recently led American Express’ digital and analytics organisation, will join the executive committee. For now, he will report to Burberry chief executive Marco Gobetti, and eventually will report to his successor once Gobetti exits the brand at the end of the year.

McCann Worldgroup names Nike veteran president and global chief creative officer. After 23 years at Nike, Alex Lopez will join the advertising agency in November, as McCann chairman and chief executive Bill Kolb said the firm is “looking at a broader future.” While at Nike, Lopez led several of the brand’s notable campaigns including “Dream Crazy” narrated by Colin Kaepernick.

Polimoda names An Vandevorst head of fashion design. The Belgium designer behind A.F. Vandevorst will join director Massimiliano Giornetti in leading the fashion design department at the Italian fashion school.
