Power Moves | Richemont Names New Board Members; Another Condé Nast Editor Departs

GQ Italia’s Giovanni Audiffredi exits and Hermès’ former chief executive will join Richemont’s board.

GQ Italia’s Giovanni Audiffredi latest Condé Nast editor to step down. Audiffredi is following Vogue Italia editor-in-chief Emanuele Farneti out the door as Condé Nast implements a global consolidation strategy. The men’s fashion title is now led globally by Will Welch, the top editor of US GQ.

Former Hermès chief executive Patrick Thomas to join Richemont’s board. Thomas, along with environmental, social and governance advisor Jasmine Whitbread will be proposed as new non-executive directors at Richemont’s annual meeting on Sept. 8. Last month, the Swiss luxury group announced that the chief executives of its Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels brands would leave the governing body to focus on running their respective units.

SMCP (Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot) chief executive departs for Design Holding. Canadian fashion executive Daniel Lalonde has left the Paris-based contemporary fashion group after eight years. Maje CEO and former Kering executive Isabelle Guichot will replace Lalonde, who oversaw the contemporary fashion group’s expansion and sale to Chinese fashion group Shandong Ruyi.
